Building of the Year of the Central Bohemia Region 2024
The sports hall in Řevnice, which was awarded the prestigious Building of the Year of the Central Bohemian Region 2024, is an example of modern architecture that emphasizes sustainability and technological maturity. The building impressed the jury not only with its design, but also with its thoughtful use of innovative technologies that enable fully automated operation without the need for human operators. The hall is equipped with the FLOWBOX EMOS system, which provides complete building management, optimizing energy consumption and creating a healthy indoor environment.
'I think that this advanced management contributed significantly to the award,' says JosefSvoboda, managing director of Sportovní hala Řevnice s.r.o."
He is the man behind the sports hall project. From the beginning, he had a clear vision: to create a space where children from Řevnice could do sports and where sports clubs from the surrounding area could come together to offer a variety of sports. The hall was designed with an emphasison maximum autonomy and unattended operation to minimize operating costs and ensure long-term sustainability.
FLOWBOX EMOS in the hall monitors and controls technology
The FLOWBOX EMOS system played a key role in achieving this goal. It completely monitors and controls all technologies in the hall, including air conditioning, heating, security, locking, CCTV and water consumption. The system reacts to current needs, such as schedules and timetables or weather changes, and optimises operations in real time. This not only ensures a healthy indoor environment, but also significantly reduces energy consumption. The result is an efficient, environmentally friendly and sustainable operation."
Thanks to FLOWBOX EMOS, the owner has a complete overview of the hall from anywhere and at any time. He immediately knows what is happening in the building, is alerted to any problems and can easily control the hall remotely. FLOWBOX also allows him to accurately monitor operating costs in realtime and calculate them in crowns.
"90% of the issues we can manage via FLOWBOX. I can't even imagine working any other way. It is a challenge to coordinate a thousand visitors a week, but thanks to FLOWBOX we manage it without an operator," says Josef Svoboda.
Benefits of FLOWBOX EMOS
The main advantages of the system include not only significant savings in operating costs and energy optimization, but also considerable savings in supervision and maintenance time and security in the hall. The system also supports the sharing of responsibility for operating conditions between owner and tenants. The investment in the software, at the same time, accounted for less than 1% of the total construction budget.
How satisfied they are with FLOWBOX EMOS?
The hall has been in operation for exactly one year and when asked how the entire management system works and how satisfied the owner is with it, Josef Svoboda replies with a smile:
"If everything worked the way FLOWBOX works and how the FLOWBOX team worked during implementation, it would be a lot easier."
The hall in Řevnice is a great example of how advanced technologies like FLOWBOX EMOS can simplify building management and reduce operating costs. This model can be an inspiration for a wide range of public and private buildings in the Czech Republic and abroad.
